Zermatt and the Matterhorn

Took Stephan and myself long enough - but we finally made it to Zermatt to see the Matterhorn. We could not have picked a clearer day. We went as far as we could by train and did some amazing hikes. Joined by our dear friend Birgit - we were so amazed by the trails and views - that what started as a 50 minute hike ended four hours later. We veered off the inital path and ended up on some much more intense ones than expected. However, whatever sore muscles we have tomorrow were worth it. We were alone for a large portion of the trail and had private views of the Matterhorn that were spectacular. I am going to dump a bunch of photos here - because it was truly an experience I will never forget.
