Mountains - Die Berge

A week in the mountains with only hiking and resting was something that we have never done before this week. I am not sure why we waited this long.  Stephan found a nice location in the Austrian mountains right on the border between two Austrian states ( Tyrol and Salzburg).   It is rather cold most days  - at one point it was around 45F (7.2C). I admit - I was not prepared. We had to go to the only shop open in town and I bought last year's Oakley sweatshirt that was clearly targeting the snowboarders last winter. (This is mainly a ski town and summer tourism is newer). Yesterday it was beautiful at the top of the mountain. We took the gondola up in our makeshift warm gear. By the end of the 2 hour hike down- we shed to our t-shirts.

The rainy days we are resting and swimming. The hotel has a quiet room where you sit and read or look out at the view. Yesterday I was mesmerized by the cloud formations and they quickly put me to sleep.
