Steg is Steep
steep - steil
We all debated where to go on Sunday for our family hike. As mentioned in the previous post we have been spending a lot of time clocking steps in the city. However, we decided we wanted to do a family hike outside the city.
I won't lie - I tend to suggest the flat trips around a lake or something even stepped.
However, Sunday, we went with Stephan's suggestion. He said that it was the easy trail and the views were great. I should have known - great views and easy trail do not happen together. You get one or the other. Sunday was the view. Ease was NOT part of the package.
Sunday, was the day for great views - but it was not an easy trail. We took the trail that was less time - but of course that just means you are cutting out the winding paths and going the direct way - straight up. And for you rock climbers, I might be exaggerating a bit, but there were parts where I was too short to reach the next step so I was using my hands to help.
Miriam and I were hiking buddies while Stephan chased his buddy.
After two hours straight up we reached our destination.
The only thing we did different on the way down - we took the longer way down to avoid sliding down the mud.
So I forgot to explain the title of this blog post. Steg is the train station that you start the hike.
