Rheinfalls
water- das Wasser

Miriam is on fall break (last week and this). Due to the travel restrictions, we are doing a staycation. As part of that, we are continuing our visits with our castle buddies. Today, we headed to the Rheinfalls. To be honest, the falls were the main part of the visit, but there was a beautiful castle to include in the visit. There was little to see in the castle as it was used as a restaurant but the view of the castle was spectacular.

Rheinfalls is the most powerful waterfalls in Europe. It is located in Switzerland - between two cantons (states). Under an hour train ride leads us to this natural wonder. The falls are approximately 15,000 years old, formed in the last ice age.

Some interesting facts:
23 meters high
150 meters wide
13 meters depth in the basin

For those wanted to see it live streamed - just check out the falls site. Or for my few moments - of recording the sounds of the falls, just click to hear it loud and moving freely.

Short and sweet blog for a short and sweet day trip with our castle buddies!
