After living in Switzerland for almost two years, we have learned a lot. Culture, food, lifestyle, politics and more.  One thing we did learn is that living in the city center in Zurich was not as crucial for us as we thought. Certain cities living in the middle of it - would be the best option in my opinion.  I find Zurich different.

We have found that basically everywhere you live - 15-20 minutes later you can find yourself in nature. (Perhaps excluding the actual city center).   However, looking for an affordable 4.5 apartment was not an option there. And in the meantime, we fell in love with one of the local lakes -  Greifensee.

So we took the plunge and we are moving to the countryside. It is 30 minutes from our new door to the city center where Miriam goes to school.

And when I say country - I mean it. There are under 1000 residents. It is affiliated with the city of Uster and we can walk, bike, bus or drive there. And that is a good thing - because - there are no stores in our town of Riedikon.  But, there is a nature preserve and for us - that was all we needed.
