Milan
Milan - Mailand - Milano (Italian)

After 5 days in Vienna - we headed home. But that only lasted a couple nights because, we quickly hoped on another train and headed to Milan for a 3-day weekend. We spent our time walking the city, drinking coffee and scouring the second hand shops for treasures. The gluten free options were probably the best we have had in a city. (Stay tuned for the next post). I am not one for fashion but I must say it was pretty amazing to watch everyone and how they are dressed in Milan. Though everything was a bit hectic there - we loved the pace and the public transport. We walked most of the time, it was still easy to hop on a train, tram or bus. The weekend we were there was Fashion and Wine Week (the week after Fashion Week). We walked the main posh streets and at night they were lined with red carpets and private wine tastings in all the designer shops.
However, our plan was very different. We figured if there was anywhere to find good items in thrift shops - it was going to be Milan. So we set a course and hit the pavement. I am happy to report - success. Two big scores. First an English-made jacket that is currently selling for over $700 perfectly fit one member of the family and was purchased for a mere fraction of the cost. The other big score - Klara found her prom dress for the year. This dress is even more elegant than last year's find. No we did not get it for the $7 we got last years, but an Italian made gown for under $50 - enough said! No photos of the dress will be shared now - you will have to wait until May for that!
