Happy New Year! L'Shanah Tova!
The Jewish New Year always brings a flood of memories and hopeful dreams. This year, we have a lot of new things to celebrate and reflect upon. New job, new schools, new friends, new opportunities and new challenges. Being new to the area, we chose to spend Erev Rosh Hashanah together, at home. We went to the farmer's market on Saturday morning and gathered pretty much every items we ate this evening from there or a local store. OK - I did make matzah balls from matzah meal I brought from the US... but next year we will have to figure out a solution for that!
For those wondering - we are currently wandering Jews. We have not settled into a congregation and not sure how that will play out. We think of our JRC and realize it is going to take a long time to settle in and feel close to what we had there. In the meantime, we are taking the time to reflect on the those we have shared this special holiday with over the years. We wish all that celebrate, joy and hope in the new year. As we enter this special time, we will do our best to recognize what we have and what we can do more to make this a just and beautiful world.
