Lichterschwimmen

Since 1962, the city of Zürich has hosted the Lichterschwimmen during Advent. Mr. Obi, a teacher started this tradition with his students. It continued to be such a loved event that the City of Zürich now coordinates, along with the current lead teacher. Ms. Lanz and her students make 800 floating lanterns and set them afloat at 6pm the day before the winter school holiday break. It was a lovely evening to watch the children put the lantern into the Limmat River.
