Kürbisfest Rudolfingen
pumpkin - Der Kürbis
Stephan was away for work travel, Miriam was off at a friend's house for the night - so Klara and I went on an adventure with a group of friends. We took a train out to the village of Rudolfingen. I am going to assume that it is a quaint little town, that normally is very picturesque with barns, fields and mountains. This little town has a very different setup for the weekend.
All the lights are turned off in the entire town. Over a thousand pumpkins are carved and displayed throughout. The guests wind through the narrow streets looking for the next pumpkin. And then the food, EVERYTHING is pumpkin. pumpkin soup, raclette, cake, chips, lasagna, drinks, you name it! Little stands are set up throughout the route.
These photos are only a small glimpse into the creativity and time spent. And even some kürbis in motion.
Truthfully, there are so many, I am not sure anyone can appreciate all the time and effort - until the next morning when like me - you are quietly processing.
