Isle Mainau and Hello Again

Hello! It has been about 2ish months since I posted. Yikes, time goes by fast. I did three things this summer: did a digital detox (mostly), studied German (a lot) and did a few local trips and one to Bulgaria with friends and family. I will try to do a little catch up in the next bit.

However, this Sunday we spent the day on a little island on Lake Constance, near one of the towns I have written about - at least twice - Constance (Konstanz). It is just a quick trip over the border into Germany. I have wanted to go to this island since we moved here and just never got there. For some reason, 95% of the time we do visit Konstanz it is raining, so it has been a deterrent.

This Sunday. the weather did not disappoint. It was the perfect weather and company. Stephan, our friend Birgit and I explored the island and it was wonderful.

We walked the island and explored the Arboretum, butterfly house, flower gardens, castle and more. We happened to be there when a Swiss group from Appenzell was giving a lovely performance. I have to say - it was a perfect day.
