Grächen

thunder - der Donner

The past couple weekends have been long due to holidays celebrated here. So we took advantage of that with a couple weekend trips. I will work backwards. This past weekend our dear friend hosted us in her new Chalet. (Heh Swiss folks - because she just bought it - there are opportunities for holiday rentals - so let me know and I will connect you).

The town was Grächen that we visited and it was right out of a movie. A small town, parts of it car free, a walk to the ski lift, fresh mountain air, amazing views and stone roofs. For a small town - I was blown away by the infrastructure.

all the buildings had a stone roof

evening entertainment

Sports center, hikes out the door and playgrounds and parks.  I think a lot of towns could learn from this little place.

of course this is the cafe we got our morning coffee from - And not a minute before 6:59!

We did take a lovely hike around the area - it was cut just a little short as the weather report was not so accurate and we got caught in a thunder storm. But the flowers, animals and glacier views were worth it!

Glacier view

The second walk - we saw a different glacier from a different view.
