Dielsdorf/Regensberg
horse - das Pferd

With the pandemic numbers rising, we have not been doing our castle trips with castle buddies. We missed them, so last Saturday, we had Stephan drive us to our friends in Dielsdorf. From there Miriam and I met up with our castle buddies and went for a walk in the beautiful weather.

We took a hike up to Regensberg. Regensberg is a beautiful old town. It is located on the top of a hill. (though I want to stress - it is not a little hill). It was founded in 1245. Like many old towns, it faced destruction from fire, Hapsburg vs Kyburg fighting for control and more.

Now it is a lovely town of under 500 residents. Many of the buildings look as if they are right out of a movie set. One interesting fact, the town was sold twice.

First to the Hapsburgs by the Barons of Regensberg in 1302.

And second to Zurich by the Hapsburgs in 1409.

After the hike up, we slowly strolled down to the train station and headed home.

Until next time, castle buddies!
