December in Milan

Stephan and I were lucky enough to at the last minute hop a train after work to Milan. A little over 3 hours and we were from the city center of Zürich to the city center of Milan. We did exactly what our favorite thing is to do in a city - WALK. And hitting 55,000+ steps in less than 48 hours is proof we did just that! We visited various tourist sites, and neighborhoods where the locals spend time, saw the thrift shops, had great coffee, found our favorite GF restaurants and found the BEST vegan and gluten free restaurant by chance. Saturday night, dwe found a lovely vegan dessert locale - we strolled over and immediately knew we found a treasure. It was so amazing - we booked for Sunday brunch and it did not disappoint - separate blog post for that one coming. (Even had a lovely chat with a couple that are traveling for a time undetermined. After the chat we added Albania to the short list of travel destinations). We also went to our first Chinatown in Europe. Next time we will plan a bit of a longer stroll through there. And of course, the holiday markets and lights - it was lovely. Oh and they are getting ready for Winter Olympics so we even got a sneak peak of the mascots which are below.
Milan you did not disappoint again! See you in 2026
