Crutches
crutches - Die Krücken

First trip to urgent care in Zurich. We will know on Monday if it is a hairline fracture or just a bad sprain. Only 2 days of school left for the year for M -well - we will see if our decision to not have a car bites us!
In the meantime, we will leave you with some humor. As I was taking the train back from Germany, M texted me she was sitting with her friends after school and could not walk to the tram. So Stephan headed to her and helped her home. In the meantime, K went to the grocery store to get ice. Her conversation at the store went as follows:
K: Where do I find ice?
Staff: It's winter, why do you need ice? We don't sell ice in the winter.
K: Umm, I need ice for my sister. (a little confused she was asking her why she wanted ice)
Staff: Why does she need ice?
K: Ummmmm.... I need ice for her foot, She twisted it playing basketball and is on her way home. (still confused why she was having this conversation)
Staff: Well, she should have twisted it in the summer.. Maybe get her a cold water bottle?
K: Yeah ok... thanks? (as she slinked away to the frozen pea section).
And Klara and Stephan figured out how to get Miriam from the tram to the house while I still traveling home. Klara got one of our bikes from the cellar and met them at the tram stop. (This was all before we really knew how bad things were -because she was able to walk after the game...and the swelling wasn't bad). The two of them got her on the bike and pushed her to the apartment so she didn't have to walk.
Don't worry when we did realize it was something that needed more attention than frozen peas - we took a cab to the doctor's office. Here is hoping that this is only a week of crutches.
And remember she is an old pro on crutches - now the other foot gets the excitement of a brace! :(

And let me know what your favorite frozen pea recipes (yuck, one of my least favorite foods).
