Poem - das Gedicht

Miriam is working hard in school and last week they wrote villanelle poems.  I loved her poem so much she agreed to let me share it here.

They are all gone away

Forced to leave their home

There is nothing more to say

All because we won’t change our way

They were left all alone

They are all gone away

When they’re all gone what will we say

We’ve left the debris for them to comb

There is nothing more to say

The world will eventually pay

For the decisions we condone

They are all gone away

We pretend nothing happened and we turn away

You can hear the earth groan

There is nothing more to say

We have to change our way

This world is just a loan

They are all gone away

There is nothing more to say
