Special attention to the girl's plates and the Chanukiah from my childhood

This is our first Chanukah in our new home. I won't pretend that we all didn't feel a twinge of homesickness as the first day approached. But, we made today a stay-at-home day for all of us. We spent the day together, which definitely helped. K and M played dreidel, which was the first time in years! We made latkes and homemade applesauce. After dinner, we took the tram downtown to look at the lights around the city. (Good news, M is able to put more pressure on her foot - still limited, but we were able to walk for a bit through town before heading back home for our special treats).

And the only Chanukah present I want? Well, that is simple - Country over Party in the US and stand up for Democracy. Maybe a great miracle could happen there.
