Basel

Water Fountain - Der Wasserbrunnen

My friend and I decided to visit Basel Friday. We hopped on the train and an hour later we were there. It was my first time in Basel. It was a pretty cold day, so we walked around the city, found a restaurant for lunch and then headed to the Tinguely Foundation and the Basel Church. Jean Tinguely was a Swiss artist that was known for his kinetic sculptures. We climbed most of the way up on of the towers but we decided we had a nice enough view and were too cold to continue. Basel is a city divided in half, separated by the Rhein. I learned that Basel gets lots of tourists from the Rhein River cruises from Germany and the Netherlands. We strolled through two Christmas markets and hopped the train home. Always love exploring a new place, especially with Birgit.
