Aescher Haus

Our dear friend came to visit last week. It has been 20 years since we have seen each other in person but when we were together it felt like it had been a few months. Neighbors in New York - we got to see each other bring our babies home for the first time and we said goodbye to New York within months of each other.

Some of our plans were washed out by the weather of the week - but we kept busy, saw, talked and ate our way through the week. The first day, Stephan joined us and we went to Appenzell. We took the train/gondola up the mountain and did a small hike to the Aescher Haus for lunch. The lunch was wonderful and the clouds were glorious- however - they were changing quickly so we headed back down the mountain and got into town just in time. We made it under an awning before the storm.
