A Crisp Summer

This summer has been unbearable at times. The temperatures were so high this summer, without a break - even at night. Fans and cold water bottles barely made a difference. The temperatures hit all time highs (41.5 C in Vienna which is about 107F). The heat has made it at times miserable to do much and more importantly - impacted the environment. The damage is enormous. We live by farms, horse ranches and nature preserves. What should be green, full of wildlife and fields filled with produce - are brown, dry and quiet.

As I am writing this - we have seen the first rain in weeks. Of course, it is now extreme as you have probably read about. We are lucky in our area as we have not had much impact from the storms - but even in the same Canton (state) where we live there is big damage.

Hoping for a cool and not extreme stormy (but yes, would love the rain) fall.
